Usability features can make applications operative for people with disabilities. These features are conveniences for some
people, but are essential for people with disabilities. Design choices can make applications accessible or inaccessible to
people with disabilities:
- Customizable colors
- Keyboard access
- Compatibility w/accessibility aids
- Speech or Braille output for the blind
- Alternatives to sound for the deaf
- Alternatives to navigation for the phyiscally impaired
- Use guidelines/tools to test, design, development, and document
Accessibility is good business, AND the right thing to do!
